A/C Diagnostic on a +11yr old unit. Found compressor not kicking on due to a bad dual cap. Gave options and client opted to replace cap. Filter is ok. Washed condenser. Compressor-9.0A. Rated 17.9RLA. Refrigerant levels:132/277 -0SH and 42F suction line temp. WITH THE FILTER PULLED. Airflow is not the best. Blower wheel looks ok, blower cap 8.9/10 LOW. Evap coil looks ok. Client would like to leave it the way it is.
I completed a tune up on both the GF and the AC. On the furnace, I visually inspected the unit. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. Completed combustion analysis. Cycled and monitored system. As for the air conditioner I visually inspected the evaporator coil, checked the temp difference across the coil, checked voltages and amps. Cycled and monitored system. Both systems were operational at the time of departure.
